Cogonian Rover/Roverettes,
Overall Champion in the Area 1 Talent Quest
Cogon High School Evening Class grabs the championship in every rovers
category, including speech choir, chorale, contemporary dance, and mural
painting in the BSP Bohol Council Area 1 Talent Quest Competition. It was held on
February 18,2023 at Tagbilaran City with the theme “Sustaining Growth”.
As they were getting ready for this competition. They put in their effort and
dedication despite the little time available or the fact that they had to prepare quickly
due to a hectic schedule. They truly lived by the scouts’ slogan “Laging Handa”, and
continued to believe themselves and fight no matter what.
For almost two weeks, the chorale has been practicing for eight hours everyday
under the instruction of their coach, Sir Frank Tayag. He believe in their potential and
push through it.He was both excited and uneasy as he wondered if they had chance
to win, but he is grateful that they try and as results of their efforts, excellence
coordination and heavenly vocals they achieve a goal of success and took the first
place.
The speech choir, coached by Mrs.Marife Isada and Mrs. Bernadith Pintac. As
soon as the winner revealed students stated that“Hardwork and pangasaba ni maam
is paid off”. The all kakapoy, paglalisay, kagutom, sininghagay while practicing their
speech for only 3 days allowed them to convey the message to the audience with the
concept of sustaining growth and also able to win the first place.
We don’t forget the contemporary dance, coach by Sir Mark Vincent Ranay, an
amazing dancer in our school. With only five days of practicing, their extraordinary
commitment, preserverance and hardwork have definitely paid off. As a team, they
express themselves to the maximum by developing their own choreography. The
Pamaol its normal for them because they dance with full energy with boosted
confidence and to stand out on stage and allowed them to achieve the first place in
the competition.
Lastly, the mural painting, where a group of four artists work together coach by
Sir Ralph Angalot as he inspire the artists to join and showcase their talents and
loving our art and culture. They help each other to create a work of art that
represents the Boholano culture or significant historic events and places of the
province. After class, they paint, giving their time to the art. They cannot stop feeling
insecure about how talented the artists from other schools but they remain optimistic
and believe in their skills and they ultimately succeeded and got the first place.
The Cogonians family are proud and impressed by the Rover and Roverettes
have accomplished. May you have continue to soar to new heights and set a good
example for others to pursue excellence. Congratulations to our winners, coaches
and everyone who participated on the BSP Talent Quest as they showcase their
different talent and bring home the championship and get ready for the another
round which is the Provoncial. Soar High,Cogon High.
