Coronary arterial disease, also known as coronary heart disease, occurs when the blood vessels supplying the heart muscle become blocked, damaging and potentially killing portions of the heart muscle. Over time, this blockage can interfere with the heart's pumping function and lead to a heart attack, arrhythmias, heart failure, or sudden cardiac death. Risk factors for coronary heart disease include age, genetics, gender, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, obesity, smoking, and physical inactivity. Symptoms may include chest pain or discomfort, but many people experience no symptoms prior to a major cardiac event. It is important to control modifiable risk factors and seek medical help immediately if any concerning symptoms arise.

Coronary arterial disease also known as coronary heart
disease (CHD) occurs when the blood vessels (coronary arteries) that supply oxygen and nutrients to the heart muscle experience a blockage resulting in damage and even death of the heart muscle which will eventually interfere with the function of the heart's pumping work and result in infarction, arrhythmias, heart failure or even a sudden death (cardiac arrest)
WHAT ARE RISK FACTORS OF CORONARY HEART
DISEASE? Not all factors can be changed (age, genetics, gender), but we can control many risk factors to reduce associated risks.
SIGNS & SYMPTOMS OF CORONARY HEART DISEASE:
There are several symptoms of coronary heart disease such as pain or discomfort in the chest (angina) which can be in the left chest area radiating to the left arm or a feeling of penetration to the scapula accompanied by complaints of nausea, vomiting and/or dizziness, and HOW TO PREVENT CORONARY HEART DISEASE? fainting. Control modifiable risk factors in the following way:
NOTE: it is important to note that the symptoms above
are not typical and specific for CHD only & statistically CHD cases can be felt up to all the symptoms, some only 1 or 2 symptoms are felt by the patient, or even no history of any symptoms but immediate cardiac arrest occurs so that if you feel the symptoms above, you should immediately go to the nearest emergency service.
