At the end of the day, the students should be able to:

 Identify the cause and effect in a sentence; and
 Construct sentences with a cause-and-effect relationship

C. Motivation

Let the students perform a dance through following the Agadoo


steps video. After that, the teacher will ask them how they feel after dancing. And
also, there are incomplete sentences to be presented and the students will complete it
based on their own experiences. This will help them have an idea about the topic.

D. Lesson Proper

The teacher will discuss the following:

Cause is why something happened.


Effect is the result of what happened.

Examples:
1. Chloe was called in the Principal’s office because her
adviser caught her cheating during examination.
Cause: her adviser caught her cheating during examination
Effect: Chloe was called in the Principal’s office
2. Since her father died, Mika became so silent.
Cause: Her father died
Effect: Mika became so silent
3. The students were well prepared, as a result, their overall
performance was excellent.
Cause: The students were well prepared
Effect: their overall performance was excellent.

E. Application
Ask the students to find a partner and they will be going to
create a sentence based on the pictures given by the teacher.

F. Generalization

Ask the student to sum up the overall lesson.

V. EVALUATION

Underline the cause and encircle the effect in the following sentences.

1. The boys scared their young sister and they got beaten by their father.
2. Lisa is one of the most intelligent students in Notre Dame University because
she is very studious.
3. Mr. Potter came to the class late since his alarm clock did not ring.
4. Sam Cruz won the singing contest on the television; therefore, he will sign a
2-year contract with the network.
