Concept Paper 1
I. Title Level of effectiveness on Modular-Assisted Instruction in Enhancing Senior
High School Eleventh Grader’s Physical-Science Learning
at San Miguel National High School
II. Introduction
Education is the only way for a society to adapt to its changing needs. As a result, without education, a
society cannot exist. Members of a society learn skills through education to enrich, transmit, and transform cultural
legacy as well as existing social and scientific knowledge for the society's further growth. Since ancient times, the
teaching-learning process has been inextricably linked to human beings. A module is a distinct unit of subject matter
or area of expertise that encompasses either a single element of subject matter content or a group of content
elements. A module's objectives are well-defined, preferably in behavioral terms (Daries, 1981). Taneja (1989)
defined a module as a virtually self-contained unit of work in a course of instruction, as well as a teaching approach
based on the concept of accumulating skills and knowledge in discrete chunks. It is also a collection of learning
opportunities centered on a well-defined topic that includes aspects such as instruction, explicit objectives, teaching-
learning activities, and evaluation using criterion-referenced measurements (UNESCO, 1988).

Modular teaching is concerned with each student as an individual with his or her unique aptitudes and
interests, to assist each student in thinking for himself and allow each learner to be unique. The emphasis must be on
one-on-one pupils with distinct abilities, aspirations, and affecting experiences, and the instructor must, once again,
personalize and individualize the educational program to give exceptional education. When a teacher is committed to
individual learning, he makes time for personal conversations with students and individual assistance. The individual
study may aid in the development of many prominent and self-reliant individuals, and in more modern ways, students
can spend time pursuing their interests and satiating their curiosities (Manlove and David, 1985). Lessons and

subjects that meet the requirements of authorities in teacher education will be included in the modules on teaching
principles and practices.

The modules' content reflects the most important components of the material being taught (Macarandang,
2009). The primary concern of enhancing eleventh graders’ physical science learning through modular assisted
instruction is to ensure quality education amidst the pandemic crisis and therefore the critical process in this step is
understanding the different mechanisms which apply to whom.

III. Statement of the problem

This study generally aims to determine the effectiveness of modular-assisted instruction in enhancing
eleventh graders’ physical science learning.
1. What is the profile of the respondents in terms of;
Name (optional)
Age
Sex
Section
2. What is the level of effectiveness of modular assisted instruction in enhancing eleventh grade’s physical
science learning?
3. Based on the result, what intervention program may be designed?
