READING INTERVENTION FOR KINDERGARTEN

Block 30 and 42 LTS: Lectures two students from this block will
conduct this project to lecture and nourish children to learn how to read
proper with comprehension.

March 17,24,31 to April 7 2024
(8:00-11:00Am) every Sunday

V. Length of Implementation
Four-day Implementation only

1. For the first day, around 4 hours of community work, two hours
preparation of work place, Introducing the project purpose and
objectives. also to know and evaluate each students based on their
reading level for two hours.
2. For the second day, bases ok their pre- assessment for the first day,
we will group them according to their reading capability and start
from knowing the sounds of the letter to comprehension. we both
teach Filipino and English reading. Filipino first then English is next.
3. For the third day assessment for their learning last week, recall and
monitoring of their achievements.
4. For the fourth day, Post assessment of each students, awarding base
on their performance.

VI. Objects of the Projects

1. Assist pupil at risk to improve reading skills.


2. Enhance the reading abilities of slow and non-readers.
3. Evaluate the improvement of the students reading proficiency.
4. Equip students with necessary materials.
5. Encourage a sense of proposal responsibility for one’s own progress.

VII. Project Description

a. Background of the project


We have noticed that in our barangay have many students that lack of
learning in reading skills sometimes I ask the daycare leader is she have
students that are non-reader or slow she said that many of them but I
conduct research that many student Kindergarten to grade three are
difficult in real.

b. Justification of the project


Due to our conduct survey realize the difficulty of each students in this
barangay difficulty in reading also in understand what they read. this
project helps students to proper pronounce words, read each word also
read with understanding. every session of reading intervention will
benefied each student to e quipped their learning in reading.
It's is not just the students will benefied but us we are benefited also
because we gain more knowledge how to handle and solve each student
ability in reading. this project has more benefits in their life, in their
mind to learn fast and know the importance of why they going to learn
how to read.

c. Benefits derived from the project


The target audience will benefied more knowledge and in-depth
learning on how to read properly. this project has a big opportunity in
each student to help themselves more forward in reading level. this will
be benefited them on how to decide words, fluency in reading, phonemic
awareness also reading comprehension this will be a greater help for
them to enhance their learning to this level of reading interventions.

d. Coverage
The project will cover 30 recipients of barangay Nagas from
kindergarten to grade three pupils.

VIII. Methodology
Our method in doing this project are;

1. Conduct pre-assessment in each student, assessment for reading level to


identify the slow and non-reader.
2. Monitor each students level of understanding while reading.
3. Teaching first the phonemic awareness on how to segment, Blend
phonemes then decoding instinct student on letter sound corresponding
and word patterns.
4. Teaching on how to improve fluency in reading guide them orally and
assist them while reading also when it comes to comprehend we will
give reading booklet with questions to test their ability to answer based
on their understanding.
