Scope and delimitation

This study focuses on examining the impact of social media on the mental health of teenagers
aged 13-19 years.This study will not investigate the impact of social media on other age groups beyond
teenagers aged 13-19 years.This study will investigate various aspects of social media use, including
frequency, duration, and types of platforms and content consumed.This study will focus primarily on
self-reported data from teenagers and may not capture objective measures of social media use or
mental health outcomes.Mental health outcomes of interest include depression, anxiety, loneliness, self-
esteem, body image concerns, and sleep quality.Due to resource constraints, the study may be limited
to a specific geographic area or sample population, potentially limiting the generalizability of findings to
other contexts.
