Title: The Impact of Social Media on Mental Health in Adolescents

Statement of Purpose:

Social media has a significant impact on teenagers' lives in the current digital era, both
positively and negatively. Social media has been associated with higher incidence of anxiety,
depression, and other mental health conditions in this demographic, despite offering
chances for self-expression, social interaction, and information access.

This study aims to investigate the connection between teenage social media use and mental
health, with particular attention to the useful implications for caregivers, educators, and
mental health providers. The paper's objectives are to review recent research on the
subject, analyse the underlying causes of the effects that have been seen, and offer
evidence-based policy and intervention recommendations that will support teenagers'
mental health and responsible use of social media.
In the context of adolescent mental health, social media presents both opportunities and
challenges. Through this research, we hope to contribute to the development of effective
strategies for addressing these issues and to inform the creation of more focused and
responsive interventions and policies in this field. We're excited to present our research to
the academic community and to work with them on this crucial topic in the future.
