1. Use correct tense
+ if the time in the past-> past
+ if the time projection for the future -> future
+ if no time-> present
2. In IELTS writing task 1 you may have to describe trend:

is one,
2. Overview: state the main trend or trends. Data shouldn’t be given and describe what is happening
overall.
3. Give the details: make references to the data. Group data together where there are patterns ( either
both go up or both go down)
