RESEARCH PROJECT WORKING TITLE

HOW THINGS ARE MADE AND WORK IN THE MOVIE AND COMIC INDUSTREY.
PROJECT INTRODUCTION
This project is about some of the 10 thing that I enjoy and merging them together the best way I
can.

RATIONALE/BACKGROUND
I am doing this project because I enjoy Disney I love going to comic cons, I like reading comics
would like to make a comic someday, I like documentaries, making storyboards and making things
out of clay and other materials. I am inspired and motivated by Disney, Pixar, Warner Brothers I
would like to make things for the sets for movies. I think it will make my research more interesting
because I enjoy my 10 new things and I like finding out how things work in the movie and comic
industry’s. I was also inspired by the making things for sets when I watched the first Star Wars and
how it was made, I thought it was interesting the way it was made then the next stage of Jurassic
Park movies making the dinosaurs I just wanted to know how things was made in the industry
from being a young child.
RESEARCH ACTIVITIES

10/01/24 Disney Exhibition The purpose of this visit was to go and see original props
from the movies and to show us how things was made in
the movies. The exhibition was about Walt Disney and
how he started off, they shown us him from a baby,
storyboarding, even had his music sheets from the film
fantasia.

I have learnt from this visit was how Disney use to make
the films in the early days of Disney. This is linked to my
work because everything that was there in the exhibition I
have done in my work or what I want to do in my work. It
was mostly costumes from movies that was there a few
posters from Disney, the last bit is where they show you
the animation side to it even had the first Pixar machines
they used to make the movies. I think this has enhance my
work a bit more because I like doing storyboards and I just
 seam to enjoy it more because I understand it a bit better.

26/10/21 Harry Potter studios The purpose of the visit was to take my daughter there for
Warner Brothers her birthday because she is a big harry potter fan. When
we got there, I was amazed by what was there. The
experience was all about Harry Potter and how they made
some of the film with the props they had, there was lots of
costumes for the cast, rooms from the film they had the
Hogwarts main hall because we went in October there was
pumpkins floating above your head instead of candles,
Gringotts bank, Gringotts bank with the dragon free
breaking the bank up. WB shows you how the green
screens work a little bit they did not show you how to use
the green screen they just shown you pictures on it with
you on the screen. This is linked to my project because it
shows us how things are made in the film industry, they
even had stands in areas of the studios showing you how
they made stuff for the film one of them was the water in
Prisoner of Azkaban with the light on it and the stag they
shown you how they did it. But in the studios, they used
sugar because they couldn’t use magma like they did in
the film because it was too dangerous.
I am hoping that this enhances my knowledge on the film
industries props on the details that goes in to making
them. I can get as much information and detail on mine.

10/10/23 Fantasy art unlimited This is an art class I go to every week it is run by a comic
artist Tim Perkins and he teaches us how he got taught to
drawing and writing comics. Tim as worked in the comic
industry for over 20 years. This is linked to my project on
the comic side of the project on how it is made in the
industry. I have learnt a little bit on this because I still go
every week, I am still learning technics. I am hoping I can
put the technics I have learnt in my work.

21/03/24 Batcave I went in there to buy a comic book I have started to read
it is called Lilo and Stitch. I wanted to read this comic
because Stitch is my favourite character but I also got it so
I can start looking how they have set the comic book out
and are they different to other comics? And to see if I
could make a comic book one day. I would like to see if I
could do a survey on the comic industry how many and
what different comics get sold the most in his shop.

PROJECT INTENTIONS
What will you be doing for this project? Outline what you feel that you might want to achieve by
doing this project. Will someone benefit from this? Is it going to be a live project? How will you
know if the project is a success? Do you want to raise awareness or do you want to encourage
people to do something, for example?
I will be doing for this project lots of research on how to make props for films new ways and old
same with the comic books. Carry on going to comic cons
INTENDED PROJECT OUTCOMES
I am not quite sure yet of what I want my outcome to be, but I would like to make something for a
film props. I would like to know what kind of comics sell the most so possibly do a survey also do a
survey getting little Clips out of a film and see how many people would know what the film is.
Possibly do a comic book. If I have enough time, I could possibly make a short trailer for the comic
ADDITIONAL INFO
I would like to design a tattoo from my research and get it tattooed on me but has to be Disney.
EVALUATION CRITERIA
I know my project will be a success when I have completed my list, and I am happy with my
research and my knowledge.
