Background of the Study

Improper waste disposal poses significant health risks to individuals and

communities worldwide. In particular, the student population is vulnerable to the
adverse effects of inadequate waste management practices due to their prolonged
exposure to contaminated environments. This research aims to investigate the
health implications of improper waste disposal on the students of Butag National
High School, focusing on the potential consequences of unregulated waste disposal
methods prevalent in the vicinity. By identifying the specific health risks associated
with inadequate waste management, this study intends to raise awareness, promote
sustainable waste practices, and provide actionable recommendations to safeguard
the well-being of the student body and foster a healthy learning environment.

pollutants caused by improper waste disposal at Butag National Highschool?

4. How does the contamination of soil and water sources due to improper waste
disposal affect the overall health of students at Butag National Highschool?

Hypothesis;

There is a significant difference between proper and improper waste

disposal.
Scope and Delimitation
The scope of this study focuses on examining the issue of improper
waste disposal specifically within the premises of Butag National High School during
the academic year 2023-2024. The primary target group for this investigation is the
students of Butag National High School. The study aims to identify the extent and
nature of improper waste disposal practices within the school grounds. It will analyze
the types of waste generated, the existing waste management infrastructure, and the
disposal methods employed by the students. The research will also assess the
knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors of the students regarding waste management.
The Investigation will delve into the potential consequences and impacts of improper
waste disposal on the immediate environment of Butag National High School.

It will explore the health risks associated with such practices and the
potential environmental pollution resulting from improper waste management. It is
important to note the delimitations of this study. The research will focus solely on the
students of Butag National High School and will not extend to other stakeholders
such as teachers, staff, or the broader community. The study will also be limited to
the academic year 2023-2024, thereby providing a snapshot of the prevailing
conditions during that specific period. By examining the scope and delimitations of
