I am the Literacy Lead teacher at Schwartz Preschool & Kindergarten, where my role is to support and
supplement the literacy learning that goes on in the classrooms. In that capacity, I have worked closely
with Kindergarten teacher Amanda Persico over this past year. Although I am sad to see her leave our
school, it is my sincere pleasure to recommend her to you.

Ms. Persico is one of the finest, most dedicated and creative teachers with whom I’ve had the pleasure to
work. She quickly developed good rapport with her students, established solid though flexible routines
and employed consistent and fair practices in her classroom. Ms. Persico took an active interest in the
well-being of each of her pupils and excelled in meeting the diverse needs of the class. Close contact
with parents was undertaken in a very thorough and meaningful way. Her students responded well to
her engaging approach to education and her genuine interest in them. Under Ms. Persico’s guidance and
encouragement, each of her students consistently realized measureable gains.
As a colleague, Ms. Persico is great to work with. She welcomes collaboration and is energetic in
supporting and encouraging co-teachers, specialists and teaching assistants. She also has a great sense
of humor and fun which brings such a positive energy to the class.
It has been my great pleasure to have worked with Ms. Amanda Persico. She is an incredibly
hardworking, well organized and committed teacher who gives so much to her students. She enjoys the
respect of her students, their parents, her fellow teachers, and the school administration.
