1. Outlet Filling Status Light Overview

1.1. Feature Description


Outlet Lights are mainly used for Bulk filling operations to indicate to the packing
staff when an outlet is receiving produce for a Pack. The Outlet Light will turn ON
when the first piece for a Pack arrives at an outlet and will turn OFF when the last
piece for the outlet has arrived and the belt clearing DELAY has elapsed.

The main outlet status light part number is ELP-IAF24DS. This also requires a 24
volt lamp as well, part number ELPBULB24D-BA9.

2. Outlet Filling Light Installation

2.1. Physical Installation


Connect an Outlet Indicator light to each SAM IO point that is to be used as an
indicator, just as you would attach a solenoid.

A 24 volt supply is usually required to power the SAM, which in turn powers the
lights.

2.2. Configuration and Setup


Do not use the settings in the COMPAC.INI under the DropLightsMap heading.
These are obsolete and may cause problems if you enable them. All the set-up is
done from within the SCP program as follows.

2.2.1. SAM IO Configuration


Each IO point that is to be used as an Indicator light should be configured as
follows:

The lights can also be configured as normal solenoid outputs but they will then
turn OFF when the sorting machine is stopped.

2.2.2. Mapping the Lights to Outlets in the SCP


Each light will need to be mapped to the appropriate Drop Feed. This is done in
the “Feed control I/O” window
1. Press: > File Menu > System Menu > Edit feed control I/O
2. Type in the SAM IO point reference in the IN USE column, against the
appropriate feed number.
3. To determine which outlet is connected to which FEED number, you will need
to Check the Feed to Drop mapping in the “Drop Information” window (CTRL-
D).
4. When all the lights are connected and mapped correctly, save the
Configuration.
