MODEL MAKING PRELIMS

12th January, 5:30 pm onwards

Rules:
1. Each team will comprise of 4 members.
2. All participating teams need to register through the given google form:

3. The team is required to select any 1 problem statement from the given
statements and present their ideas in front of a panel in the form of a ppt
with a maximum of 6 slides.
4. Teams will be selected for model making based on their idea and
presentation.

Problem Statements:
1. Quadcopters have an advantage of vertical takeoff and landing but at the
same time they have limitations of flight time and efficiency. Suggest
viable solutions.
2. Stray animals enter into farmer's field and harm their crops. Suggest
some applications of drones/UAVs for encountering this problem. You
may also suggest if your idea can be utilised for other purposes.
3. Firefighting is quite a difficult task. Rescuing people from house/building
and putting out of the fire requires extensive resources and is very
dangerous. Suggest ideas which can be employed using drones/UAVs to
tackle this problem and with what extinguishers the drone can be
equipped ?
4. In large warehouses, boxes are stacked on one another as soon as new
stock comes. For verification and maintaing the database the barcode of
the product is scanned. It is difficult and time consuming to perform
manually due to varying heights. Give some ideas involving application of
drones/UAVs to tackle this problem
5. Suggest how drones/UAVs can be utilised in warfare, some problems
related to its application and possibly, solutions.
