BOARD GAME: Review Basic Tenses

Review: Verb To Be - Present – Past – Future – Active – Passive - Questions

- Board with 42 cells (including start and finish).

- 16 verbs are spread throughout the path and we will be throwing two Dice.
Depending on what you get on each die you’ll have to create a sentence to be able
to move forward as many cells as the total number you got on the dice.

• Forward 2
1 Y/N Question 1 Future Continuous • Backward 2
• Roll again
2 Passive Negative 2 Past Continuous • Bonus +1 P.Q.

3 Active Negative 3 Present Continuous


4 Active Positive 4 Present Simple
5 Passive Positive 5 Past Simple
6 Wh- Question 6 Future Simple
Example:

Player 1: Standing on “Start” = Rolls the dice and gets: 4 + 2 = has to create an Active
Positive sentence (Die 1, 4) using the Past Continuous (Die 2, 2) verb in the cell they are
standing, “START”

“At that moment I was starting University”


After creating the sentence, Player 1 moves 6 cells. Falls in a cell that has the verb and a
note “Bonus +1 P. Q.” that means that if you create a passive question using the verb BUY
you can move forward one cell.

Player 2: Standing on “Start” = Rolls the dice and gets: 5 + 6 = has to create a Passive
Positive sentence (Die 1, 5) using the Future Simple (Die 2, 6) with the verb in the cell
they are standing (“START”).

“Construction will be started next month”

Player 2 moves forward 11 cells.

Player 3: Standing on “Start” = Rolls the dice and gets: 6 + 3 = has to create a Wh-
Question (Die 1, 6) using the Present Continuous (Die 2, 3) with the verb in the cell they
are standing (“START”).

“When are you starting your new job?”

Player 3 moves forward 9 cells….
