Topic: Do violent video games cause behavior problems?

Introduction

The relationship between violent video games and adolescent aggression has

become a hot issue in psychological research (Wiegman and Schie, 1998)

Video games are undeniably popular among children, teenagers, and grownups.

However, parents may be concerned if their child's conduct is influenced by video

games, especially those that show violence or fighting. Playing video game has been

linked to a decline in empathy and other socially acceptable behaviors, according to

a research. Playing a video game where you can only win and be number one is by killing

and hurting others does not really teach young children how to be compassionate and

empathetic towards their friends. Violent video games also encourage lethal and

criminal behavior amongst people, there are experts who point that racism and ethnic

hatred, certain psychological problems, unfavorable social settings, and easy availability

to guns and other fatal weapons in the games we play can escalate our behavior

towards committing crime. The problems are endless but there are measures which can

be taken to make sure things do not go out of hand.
