Lesson Plan in Active and Passive Voice

Learning Objectives

At the end of the lesson, students are expected to:

• Identify the differences of active voice and passive voice.

• Construct a meaning full sentences using the Active and passive voice.

• Rewrite active voice sentences into passive sentences}

The teacher will going to pick 5 representatives from the class and asked them to bring

their favorite things they have in their bag to the front. It could be wallet, comb,

notebook or book as long as it is tangible. Each of them will going to show an action

using the things that they have. Students will write a sentence on what their classmates

in the front are doing.


For example: Kawhi pick her wallet

1. Ask the students what they know about active and passive voice

that they will going to use to find an active voice and change it into passive voice.

H. Generalization

For an overview, the following will make the students understand more about

the topic

1. Active Voice It follows a clear subject + verb + object.

With passive voice, the subject is acted upon by the verb.

In the passive voice, however, the subject is no longer performing the action of

the verb.

IV. Evaluation

Activity 1: Pair Up

The students will find a pair and will decide on their own who will going write

active voice and passive voice. One student will write 10 sentences in active voice and

the

other one will write 10 sentences in passive voice. After that, they will

exchange paper and rewrite the sentences according to what is not assign to them.
Activity 2:

There are 5 groups in the class where each of the group will going to

construct 5 sentences in active and passive voice form. It will be use with the game

later. They will exchange with other groups when the activity start. The group will going

to have their representative to act the sentence without a word. The rest of their

group will guess what they are trying to say.


Activity 3: Individual Assessment

Identify the following sentences whether it is in active or passive voice. If it is in active,

re-write it in passive voice and vice versa.

V. Assignment
This assignment will be performed next meeting by group. Elaborate your ideas and use

some helpful materials if necessary. Watch the movie “Brave Heart” by Mel Gibson.

The teacher will divide the class into two groups.

Group 1: Reporting

Get the summary of the movie and report it in class using Power point Presentation.

Group 2: Role-Playing

Pick a scene from the movie that you want to role play.
