Life and living things, including the laws that govern the phenomena of life the study of life itself, is a vast
subject, with many sub-disciplines that concentrate on specific aspects of biology. Every aspect of life from the smallest
submicroscopic living particles to the largest and most imposing of plant and animal species is included.
It is usually easy to recognize life, but it is often much harder to define it. All living things are made of cells.
Some organisms are unicellular and consist of only a single cell that carries out all life processes. Other organisms are
multicellular and are composed of many cells which perform specialized and specific functions.

Easy Level Instructions. Write AGREE if the thought of the statement is correct and DISAGREE if it
is otherwise. Write your answer in the space provided for.

________ 1. The Special Creation Theory believed on a Supreme Being that created all that we see around us.
________ 2. A hypothetical process by which living organisms develop from nonliving matter is known as
Spontaneous Generation Theory.
________ 3. The Biogenesis Theory simply states that life can only come from life.
________ 4. The Biogenesis Theory and Special Creation Theory are the same theory but separated by different
thoughts and concerns.
________ 5. The Spontaneous Generation Theory scientifically supports the origin of life.
________ 6. The Abiogenesis Theory proposes that the first life-forms generated were very simple and through a
gradual process became increasingly complex.
________ 7. The simplest form of life begins from a single-celled form of life.
________ 8. Scientists suggest that organic chemicals struck by lightning or other source of energy in the primordial
earth environment generated the protein that eventually developed into living cell.
________ 9. The Theory of Panspermia suggests that life must have come from under water that evolved to what we
know as organisms of the present day.
________ 10. Multicellular organisms evolved separately from their unicellular ancestors.

Every living organism provides signs and evidences of life. Unicellular and multicellular organisms alike are able to
respond to their external environment through stimulus known as 1) _____________________.
All organisms undergo cellular division which is a sign of life. Meiosis enables both the single and multicellular
organism to undergo 2) ___________ and 3) ____________ reproduction. In contrast, mitosis enables organisms to undergo
4) _______________ in the lower forms of life and 5) ___________________________ in the multicellular forms of life.

Other characteristics of life are more prominent and evident to observe in multicellular organism compared to a
single-celled at such that 6) ____________ is easier to observe in animals eating and digesting their food, the utilization of
energy through 7) _______________ is faster to demonstration by physical activities, 8) _____________ a means to move
from one place to another to obtain food and shows different 9) ______________________ evident by the presence of the
different organ systems that make up an organism.
Definitely, all living organisms has 10) __________________ that dictates their physical characteristics.
