VIRTUOUS PEOPLE: DO THEY STILL EXIST?

A REFLECTIVE SUMMARY

Every day we wake up and strive to make our day great. We meet different people, of
different ages, different backgrounds, and different stories, with different moYves that drive us
to live another day. With our everyday rouYne, do we strive to be virtuous, but how, in a world
that’s full of sadness, cruelty, and hatred, can someone live virtuously?
In this task, we had the opportunity to interview people and ask about their way of
becoming virtuous, and based on our findings from the testaments that we got, generally, virtues
come from or at least are started by our parents, themselves. These good traits have been taught
and pracYced since we were young and growing up these become virtues. These traits guided
them to roam the world while making connecYons with people, some of them admiged that not
every day they pracYce these virtues, depending on the people they are with or encounter. It’s
good that most of the people that we interviewed conYnue and will conYnue to these virtues
that they know of and grew up with, they pracYce it in their everyday lives without thinking twice
about doing what is considered morally good.
What we can conclude from this acYvity and from the people whom we had the
opportunity to ask about virtues is that virtuous people sYll do exist. People who pracYce and
spread kindness and love even among strangers, though the world is not all love and kindness,
there is cruelty in this world that we are all aware of and it is good that the majority of us pracYce
kindness and understanding of each other, at least here in the Philippines, some of us are. Modern
issues affect us also, as well as the media and every technology with the capability of spreading
informaYon can affect our daily decisions, as humans we are vulnerable, we are not perfect, and
we are capable of kind acts but also we are capable of hurYng and being hurt. The human mind
is as complex as the universe, each of us is different, with different backgrounds, different stories,
and different moYves but sYll, each of us should always choose what’s morally good and
acceptable, be guided by our virtues and teach these virtues to others as well.
