Mallaya in Kuala Lumpur,
Malaysia.

all the time.

cultural diversity and
mathematical prowess.
With her powerful
intelligence she was a young
entrepreneur who loves to enjoy all
her awards and work she have made.

Campus Journalism is one of the
most challenging tasks an elementary
school student be involved in. Some may
welcome its challenges with so much
eagerness and positivity, but for most, it
might be utterly hard and o verwhelming
experience, especially when their heart
and mind are not into it.
I underwent an audition but I wasn’t
doing much. I was thinking that I
wouldn’t be a campus journalist since I
hardly made a paragraph or two during
the audition. In my mind, others may be
better than me and that they would
likely be chosen instead of me who was-
n’t fond of writing.
And, Voila! I was chosen as a feature
writer for Collaborative Desktop
Publishing in English. During our
training, writing was a tedious task.
Thinking of what to write and putting
everything together is breaking my brain
cells.
Our coach and trainers are the ones
we can thank the most. They taught me
to focus on every task given to me, en-
couraged me to read more than the
usual, given me technical assistance in
perfecting the structures of my articles,
and reminded me constantly to give my
all and my best during the Schools’ Press
Conferences, where my CDP team was
hailed as qualifier to the next level of
competition.
Unexpectedly, I am here today at
Abuyog, Leyte, trying and giving my best
to be of relevance to my CDP team for
the Division Schools Press Conference
2024 competition, taking with me what I
have learned from weeks of intensive t
raining .
Seeing my fellow contenders feels like
we are in a challenging yet exciting
battle of my life. I know some of them
are just like me, a newbie. But now, it’s
is settled. I am ready to face any chal-
lenges thrown at me as a journalist,
embodying my goals to learn, under-
stand, and embrace the journalist within
me.
Now, I’m putting my faith to myself
and my CDP team that we will pull this
off no matter what. To prove to every-
one that I am not just a mere student.
Rather, I am a journalist in the making,
who upholds truth and integrity, who
aims to be the agent of excellence in the
field of campus journalism.
More important than milestones and
wins for me and my CDP team though,
are the lessons, values, and awakened
love for writing; cultivating our journal-
istic skills to become more than just
thriving amateur journalists.
