Your brain is valuable - Give it a break!

by Miss Kelsey

Listen up, dear padawans, this is your teacher speaking. When I was a high school
student myself, I found that I was overwhelmed with everything going on in my
academic and social life. My brain was never silent but always spinning with new
information and obligations. So, I bought a planner, a notebook, and a journal. I
began to plan my days, take down notes in class, and write down what was
stressing me out in my life. I began to clean the clutter out of my brain so I could
think faster and focus better--and it worked! Your first assignment in this class is to
create a hybrid planner/notebook/journal. You may arrange the hybrid however you
like--your only requirements are that I can easily navigate the hybrid and that the
hybrid is made up of a three-ring binder and college-ruled paper. I won't read your
journal (take those pages out before check your work!), but I will look at your
planner and notebook sections. Good luck!

It's showtime!
by Miss Kelsey

Calling all students! All of Miss Kelsey's students

anyway. Seriously, your participation in this
project counts towards your grade. Ninth and
tenth grade are going to be putting on William's
Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing. Have
no fear, students! You do not have to act in this
play to receive your credit--you can also help
build sets, create costumes, design posters, and
much more! So buckle up, buttercups! We've got
three months to plan this production, and you've
got three months to boost your score in my
class! Our enrichment class period will be filled
with planning and creating this wonderful
masterpiece on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
You will still have computer lab Tuesday and
library Thursday. Let's get to work!
