III. Learning Procedure

Teacher’s Activity Student’s Activity

A. Preliminary

1. Prayer
May we all stand to feel the
presence of the Lord _____ kindly
lead us a prayer.
(In the name of the Father, of the Son,
and the Holy Spirit, Amen.)

2. Greetings
Good morning, Class!
Good morning, Sir.

Before you take your sit, kindly

arrange your chairs and pick up
those litters around you.
Then, you may now take your sit.
Thank you, Sir.

3. Checking of Attendance
Secretary who is absent today?
No one is absent Sir.

That’s good to hear class! Very

good
4. Review
Class what was our lesson
yesterday?
The lesson yesterday sir was about
Solving Linear Equation in one variable.

Very good!

B. Motivation

Before we proceed to our new

lesson today, we will first have a
group activity.
Instruction:
1. You will be group in to two.
2. Study and analyze the
equations. Answer the
following equations.
3. Explain on how you solve it.

For group 1.
1. 3x - 4 = 5
1. 3x – 4 = 5
3x = 5 + 4
3x = 9
3x 9
=
3 3
x=3

2. x – 2.1 = 8.4
2. x – 2.1 = 8.4
x = 8.4 + 2.1
x = 10.5

f
3. =−12
6 f
3. =−12
6
f
( 6 )=¿ -12(6)
6
f =¿−72

For group 2.
4. 6y + 5 = 5
4. 6y + 5 = 5
6y=5–5
6y=0
6y 0
=
6 6
y=0
5. 12 – x = 7

5. 12 – x = 7
x = 12 – 7
x=5

b
6. =15
10
b
6. =15
10
b
(10)=15(10)
10
b=150

Very good!

C. Discussion
Now class, we will discuss about “Solving
linear inequalities in one variable “.
Understood?
Yes, Sir!

Inequality is a mathematical sentence

indicating that two expressions are not
equal. The relation symbols <, >, ≤, ≥ ,∧≠
are used to denote inequality.

A linear inequality is an inequality in one

variable that can be written in one of the
forms a x + b < c, a x + b ≤ c, a x + b ≥ c,
a x + b < c, a x + b ≤ c, a x + b ≥ c, or a x
+ b > c, a x + b > c, where a a , b b , and c
c are all real numbers.

Examples;
1. 𝑥 + 2 > 5
x>5–2
x>3

Checking:
x+2>5
4+2>5
6>5

2. -8 ≥ 𝑥 – 5
x≥5–8
x ≥ -3
Checking:
−8 ≥ 𝑥 – 5
−8 ≥ −4 – 5
−8 ≥ − 9

Understood?

Yes, Sir!

D. Application

From this time class, I want you to

try to answer those equations using
solving linear inequalities in one
variable.

1. x – 3 > 2
x>2+3
x>5

1. x – 3 > 2
x>2+3
x>5

Checking:
x–3>2
6–3>2
3>2

2. 2x + 4 ≥ 12

2. 2x + 4 ≥ 12
2x ≥ 12 – 4
2x ≥ 8
2x 8

2 2
x≥4

Checking:
2x + 4 ≥ 12
2(5) + 4 ≥ 12
14 ≥ 12
E. GENERALIZATION

Again class, what is an equality?

Sir, equality is a mathematical sentence

indicating that two expressions are not
equal.
And what is linear inequality in one
variable?

Sir, inequality in one variable can be

written in one of the forms a x + b < c, a
x + b ≤ c, a x + b ≥ c, a x + b < c, a x + b
≤ c, a x + b ≥ c, or a x + b > c, a x + b >
c, where a a , b b , and c c are all real
numbers.
Very good!

F. VALUING
Now class, can we relate solving linear
inequality in our daily life situations.

Yes, Sir!
Can you give some scenarios or examples.

(Student give some scenarios)

Very Good!

Another example, when managing

personal finances, we often need to
compare incomes to expenses. By setting
up and solving linear inequalities, we can
determine if our income is enough to
cover our expenses and make informed
decisions about budgeting and saving.
IV. EVALUATION
Direction: Solve the following equations using linear inequality in one variable.
1. 7(3x+1) ≤ 49
2. x + 2 < 6
3. 5(x + 4) > x + 4

V. ASSIGNMENT
Directions: Answer those equation using solving linear inequality in one variable.
1. 5x > 30
2. 8(4x + 3) ≤ 64
