ABOUT US
The Authority of Social Contribution – Ma’an, was established in
February 2019 by the Department of Community Development in
Abu Dhabi to bring together the government, private sector, civil
society, and local community to support Abu Dhabi’s
sustainable social development goals.

Ma’an creates social impact through an extensive array of

programmes designed to address social priorities
across Abu Dhabi.

The Authority empowers the growth of a thriving third sector of

nonprofits, social enterprises, and volunteer groups via a range
of funding and certification programmes, sustainable financial
contracting models and volunteer activation initiatives.

As the government of Abu Dhabi’s official channel to receive

contributions from businesses and individuals, the Authority
of Social Contribution – Ma’an mobilizes funding to support
initiatives in sectors including health, education, environment,
social, and infrastructure.

By providing meaningful and engaging community

opportunities for every individual and entity, Ma’an is making
a real difference in the development of collaborative communities.

Ma’an invests in and nurtures social enterprises that demonstrate
a clear ability to deliver sustainable positive social impact.
/ Social Investment Funds & Grants
Available to volunteer groups, nonprofits, social
businesses and enterprises, Ma’an offers funding and grants that
support in scaling operations and services or activating volunteers.
CERTIFICATION
/ Social Certificate
Ma’an Social Certification is the UAE’s first recognition
scheme for organizations with a mission to address social
challenges and create social impact in Abu Dhabi.
/ Social Responsibility
CSR Label is an Abu Dhabi government certified label
designed to recognise companies who contribute their CSR
budgets towards driving long-term social impact and giving
back to the community.
