Computer Assignment 1 (3%): Anisha Bank

Anisha is a commercial bank that wants to study the commitment of its employees by means of a
questionnaire. The questionnaire contains mostly multi-item scales as well as some demographic
questions.
Table 1 and 2 provide detailed information about the variables measured. The questionnaire itself is
included as an appendix to this assignment.

The following tables give an overview of the variables measured in the questionnaire.

Question:
1)
i) Descriptives
a) Provide the sample characteristics by calculating descriptive statistics.
- What is the general profile of the respondents in the study?
- What is the relationship between gender and number of years at work?
- Which gender is more stressed and more committed to their work?

b) Create bar chart for item 1 of the questionnaire.

c) Create bar chart for item 6, which show separate results for males and females.

ii) Recoding
Study the questionnaire posted on UMMoodle. Identify all the items that should be recoded.
Why? What are those items? Have you recoded the items in a separate column in your
dataset?

iii) Calculate the mean score for all the variables in Anisha’s study
Note: you use recoded items (if any) otherwise your score will not be correct.

2) Create the SPSS dataset for your group based on the questionnaire you used for the term project.
Give meaningful labels and identify all items that need to be recoded.
a) How many items in your questionnaire requires recoding? What are those items?
b) Recode all the items in preparation for further analysis in the next class meeting.
