It is my pleasure to recommend Ms. Shreya Modi for admission to your master’s programme in
Criminology and Criminal Justice. She successfully completed the Internship-based Training in
Forensic Psychology at Socially Souled under my guidance from 13th March 2023 to 12th April
2023. I have known her since her internship.
I am currently working as a Forensic Psychologist at Socially Souled, where I conduct training-
based internship programmes for students and professionals who want to learn about forensic
psychology. I have taught various subjects related to forensic psychology at National Forensic
Sciences University. I have trained many Indian and International Police officers in forensic
psychology and have been invited as a resource person at various national platforms, such as IIM
Ahmedabad, St. Xavier’s College Mumbai, and as a speaker at TEDx. I worked as Project Director at
the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India on projects related to cybercrime prevention
and awareness.
Throughout the tenure of the internship, Shreya showed strong enthusiasm and inquisitiveness in
the field of Forensic Psychology. She demonstrated critical thinking and reasoning skills in solving
complex assignments given during the internship programme. In one of the mock trials, she
excelled as a strong defence lawyer, presenting her critical viewpoints. Her ability to gather
relevant and diverse sources and synthesise the information effectively gave her work a distinct
edge. She always explained her views concisely and supported them with clear and persuasive
arguments during the debate sessions. Her ability to convey complex concepts and arguments with
eloquence was truly commendable.
During our mock crime scene exercise, Shreya really impressed us with her problem-solving skills.
She tackled the challenge by breaking down the available information and connecting the dots
between different pieces of evidence. It was clear that she could visualize the complexity of the
problem, think logically, process data, and effectively piece together the details to crack the case.
What's more, Shreya has a solid foundation in behavioral science, particularly in psychology and
sociology. This background allowed her to analyze the behavioral patterns associated with the
crime and construct a plausible profile of the potential offender.
Her organizational skills were on point as well. Shreya made sure her work was well-structured and
easy to follow, demonstrating a keen eye for detail. In group assignments like poster making and
panel discussions, she showed not only her individual capabilities but also worked well with the
team. Her ability to ask thought-provoking questions during Q&A sessions added an extra layer of
engagement and surprise. All in all, Shreya's down-to-earth approach and practical skills make her
an asset in both individual and collaborative settings.

Beyond her academic accomplishments, Shreya stands out for her commendable work ethic.
Consistently meeting deadlines, she showcased her diligence by submitting assignments
punctually. Her academic prowess shone through her internship, where she achieved an
outstanding grade of 94.5%, the highest in her class. This achievement underscores her overall
intelligence and commitment to excellence, traits essential for a career in forensic psychology or
criminology.
Shreya's exceptional qualities extend to her preparedness, organization, and engagement. Her keen
observational and analytical skills align perfectly with the requirements of a forensic psychologist
or criminologist.
A notable aspect of Shreya's capabilities is her remarkable talent for conducting thorough and
comprehensive research. Her ability to analyze complex concepts and showcase a high level of
research proficiency was evident in her first research paper, a project I had the privilege of guiding.
The paper delved into a challenging and original topic—the intricate biopsychosocial factors
shaping the profiles of Indian serial killers. Shreya's sophisticated and comprehensive analysis
showcased remarkable skill and insight. It's truly admirable that she produced such a high-quality
research paper at her age.
Considering Shreya's academic achievements, work ethic, and research capabilities, I am confident
that she would be an excellent fit for your master's program in Criminology and Criminal Justice.
Her potential to make a significant impact on the world is evident, and I wholeheartedly recommend
her for your program.
