EVALUATION 2³ 13/09/23

Content of the day was covered and objectives were met. Learners were able to draw a frequency
polygon, represent data using frequency polygon as a method of data representation and interpret data
on frequency polygon. Teacher used a chart with a sketch of frequency polygon as media. Teacher used
group work, demonstration, class discussion and exposition as teaching methodologies. Learners
actively participated in the lesson. The classroom was conducive for learning system. The teacher was
professionally dressed.

STRENGTHS

Learners were able to link learnt concept of using a frequency table to represent data using a method of
frequency polygon. Procedures of the lesson were orderly arranged. Group work gave learners
opportunity to share ideas, to communicate with each other, to improve language use and to take
leadership roles. In groups, learners managed to decide how to represent data on a frequency polygon.
Teacher's voice was very audible. Teaching strategies and a chart which was neatly written worked as an
aid to attract learners’ interest. Learners learn from models that is the teacher, the teacher presented
the work neatly on the white board and the teacher witnessed same thing on learners after marking
their work. The objectives of the lesson have been met and this was shown by learners participation in
all activities done in drawing a frequency table.

WEAKNESSES

Group led by Tanaka were producing correct answers quickly whilist other groups were still behind
because members of that group were all fast learners. Some learners were taking group work time as
time to discuss their stories rather than doing school work

SUGGESTIONS

Teacher should reshuffle members of the groups so that all the groups may have a mixture of slow
learners and fast learners. The teacher must give punishment to noise makers for the behaviour to
become extinct.
