NONPROFIT MANAGEMENT

Nonprofit management refers to the set of principles, practices, and

strategies employed in the administration and oversight of
organizations that operate for a social or community purpose without
the primary goal of making a profit. Nonprofit organizations, also
known as not-for-profit organizations, are established to address
various societal needs, promote a cause, or serve a particular
community.
In the Philippines, not-for-profit organizations (NPOs) are
typically organized as "non-stock corporations" registered under
the Corporation Code(REPUBLIC ACT NO. 11232). Non-stock
corporations may be formed for charitable, religious,
educational, professional, cultural, fraternal, literary, scientific,
social, civil service, or similar purposes, such as trade, industry,
agricultural and similar chambers, or any combination thereof
(Revised Corporation Code Section 87). The Securities and
Exchange Commission (SEC) of the Philippines serves as the
registration authority for non-stock corporations.

How Are Voluntary Sector
Different From Other

1. They are Values-led - The aim of voluntary organizations is to

fulfill their mission and work towards the greater good in some
specific way, rather than to make a profit.
2. They operate with fewer resources - Voluntary organizations do
not normally have large budgets, and the budgets they do have
are rarely flexible
3. They are independent - A voluntary organization is run by an
independent board who decide on strategy and priorities.
