NARRATIVE REPORT ON GSP OVERNIGHT CAMPING

Date: March 22-23, 2024


Venue: Deparo Elementary School

The Girl Scouts of Deparo Elementary School embarked on an thrilling overnight


camping adventure aimed at fostering camaraderie, learning, and empowerment.
The event, meticulously planned and executed, unfolded seamlessly under the
guidance of dedicated troop leaders and teachers.

3:00 PM - Registration:
The camping journey commenced with the registration process overseen by
teachers Valerie Visbal and Mirofe Tan. As eager scouts arrived, excitement filled
the air, setting the tone for an unforgettable experience.

4:00 PM - Opening Program:


Under the capable hands of GSP School Coordinator Maricelda Illustrisimo, the
opening program ignited the spirits of the Girl Scouts. Participants were encouraged
to craft their own spirited yells, setting the stage for unity and enthusiasm. Following
this, an essential lecture on fire prevention was delivered by a representative from
the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), highlighting safety measures and demonstrating
fire suppression techniques.

5:00 PM - Camp Set Up and Dinner:


Ms. Jocelyn B. Apruebo spearheaded the camp setup, ensuring a conducive
environment for the night's activities. As dusk approached, scouters and teachers
alike gathered for a hearty dinner, led by Lany Atendido. As the evening progressed,
Girl Scouts engaged in singing practice, led by Master Teachers Juvilyn Medina and
Lina Farinas, honing their vocal skills for the campfire later on.

7:30 PM - Campfire
The crackling campfire became the focal point of the evening as Scouters gathered
to share stories and reflections. Scouter Trisha Mae C. Masaoy imparted valuable
insights from her own Girl Scout journey, inspiring others with tales of perseverance
and badge achievements. The night resonated with the melodious tunes of Girl
Scout songs, echoing through the covered court.

10:00 PM - Lights Out:


As the night deepened, Scouters retired to their tents for a well-deserved rest,
rejuvenating for the day ahead.

4:00 AM - Rise and Shine:


The camp came alive again at 4:00 AM as scouts woke up to the sound of morning
zumba led by Zil Ibong, energizing them for the day ahead. This was followed by a
spirited parade led by Nelita De Gabriel, showcasing the unity and pride of the Girl
Scout movement.

8:00 AM - 8 Point Challenge and Games:


The morning kicked off with the 8 Point Challenge, designed to test the Scouts' skills
and knowledge across various domains. From photography led by John Aaron
Macato to knot tying facilitated by Jeky Pulgado, each station offered a unique
opportunity for growth and learning.

10:40 AM - Breaking Camp:


With memories made and challenges conquered, troop leaders led the Scouts in
breaking camp, wrapping up the event on a high note of accomplishment and
camaraderie.

12:00 PM - Conclusion:
As the camping adventure drew to a close, participants bid farewell to the
wilderness, carrying with them newfound skills, cherished memories, and a
strengthened bond of sisterhood.

The Girl Scout overnight camping proved to be an enriching experience, empowering


young girls with invaluable lessons and memories to last a lifetime.
