The National Learning Camp (NLC) is a voluntary program that was launched by the
Department of Education (DepEd) in 2023 to address the learning loss that many students
experienced during the COVID-19 pandemic. The NLC is designed to provide students with
additional support in the areas of literacy and numeracy.

The NLC is offered to students in Grades 1 to 12. Students are placed in one of three
camps: Enhancement Camp, Consolidation Camp, or Intervention Camp. The camp that a
student is placed in depends on their individual needs.

The Enhancement Camp is designed for students who are already performing at grade level.
The camp provides these students with enrichment activities that will help them to further
develop their literacy and numeracy skills.

The Consolidation Camp is designed for students who are close to grade level. The camp
provides these students with additional support to help them to reach grade level.

The Intervention Camp is designed for students who are significantly below grade level. The
camp provides these students with intensive support to help them to catch up to grade level.

The NLC is a five-week program that is held during the summer break. The program is
delivered by a team of teachers and other education professionals. The program includes a
variety of activities, such as:

 Small group instruction

 Individual tutoring

 Hands-on activities
 Games and puzzles

 Field trips

The NLC is a valuable opportunity for students to receive additional support in the areas of
literacy and numeracy. The program is designed to be fun and engaging, and it provides
students with the opportunity to learn in a supportive environment.

Here is a story about a student who participated in the NLC:

Rex was a student in Grade 4 who was struggling with his literacy and numeracy skills. He
was falling behind in his class, and he was starting to feel discouraged. His parents decided
to enroll his in the NLC, hoping that it would help his to catch up.

Rex really enjoyed the NLC. He liked the small group instruction, and he found the hands-on
activities to be helpful. He also made some new friends in the program.

After two weeks, Rex was making significant progress in his literacy and numeracy skills. He
was able to read more fluently, and he was better able to solve math problems. He was also
feeling more confident in his abilities.

Rex’s parents were very happy with his progress in the NLC. They said that the program had
made a real difference in his learning. Rex was also happy with the program, and he said
that he would recommend it to other students who are struggling with their literacy and
numeracy skills.

The NLC is a valuable program that is helping students to catch up in the areas of literacy
and numeracy. The program is fun, engaging, and supportive, and it is making a real
difference in the lives of students.

Here are some of the benefits of the NLC:

 The NLC provides students with additional support in the areas of literacy and
numeracy.

 The NLC is designed to be fun and engaging, which helps students to stay
motivated.

 The NLC provides students with the opportunity to learn in a supportive environment.

 The NLC can help students to catch up to grade level and to succeed in school.

If you are a student who is struggling with your literacy and numeracy skills, I encourage you
to talk to your parents or teachers about the NLC. The program can help you to improve your
skills and to succeed in school.
Last August 25,2023 at exactly 9:00o’clock in the morning, the Plaridel ES teaching staff,
stake holders, and NLC participants conducted a Completion and Closing Ceremony headed
