It is a privilege to write this recommendation for Lexie Hazelton. I have been given the
opportunity to work with Lexie serving as the university supervisor for her student teaching
experience through Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. During Lexie’s time under my supervision, I
have been impressed by her efforts to become a well-rounded agricultural educator. She has
demonstrated an exceptional ability to connect with students, create engaging lesson plans, and
adapt to the diverse needs of the classroom.

In the classroom, she plans with intention, showing her ability to tailor her class looking at the
variety of needs to differentiate lessons. So far while student teaching at King City High School
she has taught Animal Science, Floral Design, and Agriscience courses. Beyond planning with
intention, Lexie builds respectful rapport with her students forming a positive classroom
community. She is well-rounded in all three rings of agricultural education student teaching at an
active program of over 700 students. Currently helping advise sheep, goats, and swine projects as
well as coaching Prepared Public speaking. One of Lexie’s best strengths is her ability to
collaborate and be coached. I believe this will serve any department and school district well
because she will work to be a team player and always strive to serve her students to the best of
her abilities.

In conclusion, I am confident that Lexie will make a positive and lasting impact as a professional
