To whom it may concern,
I am writing to recommend Lexie Hazelton for a position at your school. Lexie was part of our
team while she was student teaching at King City High School this semester. In my short time
knowing her it is obvious to see she has a passion for teaching, great classroom management and
dedication to the school community.

Ms. Hazelton was always very knowledgeable about the curriculum. She has experience working
at veterinary clinics, raising livestock and working with various other animals. Her passion for
animals shows through her lessons and there is never a doubt from the students that Lexie is well
versed in the animal industry. Graduating with an animal science degree also means that Lexie
has taken an extensive amount of science courses including biology and chemistry courses.
During her time with us, she taught my Animal Science class and the Agriculture Science 2 class
which mostly covers chemistry and earth science topics.

I’ve always put a premium on flexibility among our teachers and Ms. Hazelton never failed to
deliver. An example was when her classroom was being used for another purpose she was able to
deliver a lesson last minute, on our school farm. Lexie is fast thinking, confident and able to
adapt in a variety of situations. The students respect her and her confidence in the classroom.
Lexie has kept a good balance between keeping classroom control but remaining approachable.
She displays good classroom management and procedure.

Lexie has volunteered to assist with many community events. She has supervised students at
fundraisers, meetings, animal projects at the farm, showmanship practices and public speaking
events. She never hesitates to work after school and weekends with our students in their various
agriculture endeavors, the student and staff respond well to her level of commitment. I believe
she has learned a lot in her time student teaching because she has given it her all. Ms. Hazleton
is a delight to work with and I wouldn’t hesitate to work with her again. She is passionate about
teaching, science curriculum and working with students. I hope you seriously consider her as a
candidate.
