Dear Employer,
I am a fourth-year student majoring in International Relations at Chulalongkorn University.
I’ve always been interested to embrace new experiences in foreign countries, including diverse
ways of living and working, cuisines, cultures and customs. I therefore would like to be part of
2024 Work and Travel program. Proactive communication with foreigns and challenges
overcoming are what I considered as key enablers for confidence and lifetime experience. Given
the duration of 3 months that is just right for skills development, I thus would like to work in the
area requiring frequent engagement with foreigners, such as sales, cook, and customer service,
which I will be welcome to try even if it’s my first attempt.
Even though I was not involved in so many extra-curricular activities, the ones I was
involved with are major event. One of them is the student council of academic track, where I was
nominated as the main coordinator between students and other internal stakeholders as well as
the in-store sales for entrance-examination preparation materials. While both tasks deliver
significant outcomes, each required distinct skills set: the first task required solid leadership and
problem-solving skills; the second required effective communication, sales, and customer service
skills in order to boost as much sales as possible. Additionally, since entering college, I’ve become
a full-time Mandarin tutor to earn a living for 4 years now. This tackles my time management and
prioritization skills for studying and working to co-exist in a balanced manner. I usually work since
7 or 8am, go to class in the afternoon, and get back to tutoring until 8 or 9am or 11am latest.
Such arrangement has stirred up my excitement and contentment and has boosted enthusiasm
and motivation towards self-development, which I could apply to my work life effectively.
I am a true believer of my hard-working and diligent characteristics as well as problem-
solving skill, independence, courage of conviction, and even the ability to work well under
pressure. If given the opportunity, I am certain that I will deliver all assigned tasks well by all
means. All in all, thank you very much for your kind consideration and I genuinely look forward
to our cooperation in the near future.
