5 Pie charts
Pie charts represent a proportion of each item. The size of the slice shows the frequency of the
data. Shaded part can be described by using fraction, decimal and percentage.

The bigger the slice is, the higher the frequency is.

The pie chart below shows proportion on each sport which Grade 8 students like. Volleyball
accounts for 60 percent, followed by soccer at 30 percent. 10 percent of students like rugby.
