Fashion Designers in the Future won’t just be Sewing,

They'll be Coding
Over the past few years, fashion has been booming with technological innovations.
Digital designers, for example, are using 3D modelling and AR to outfit avatars and
humans alike. However, physical fashion produces a lot of waste and is one of world's
largest polluters. This is why women entrepreneurs like Karlie Kloss are using digital
technology to change how fashion is made, sustained, and accessed, while also
empowering more women to work in tech.

#42ABUDHABI FACTS
(DID YOU KNOW)

A Journey through time

Have you ever wondered about the FIRST code
ever created? If you have, then keep reading to
learn some fun facts about where it all started.
Let’s travel back to 1843, when Ada Lovelace, a
mathematician and writer who lived in England,
created the first code.
In 1833, Ada Lovelace first met Charles
Babbage, a mathematician who was working on
a prototype of a calculating machine known as
the "Difference Engine".
In 1843, Lovelace translated a paper produced
by Italian mathematician Luigi Menabrea
describing Babbage’s second project, the
“Analytical Engine” in French. She also added
thousands of words of her own notes to the
paper, in which she showed that Ada recognized
the machine's potential to perform a lengthy
series of mathematical calculations. Computer
historians consider her description of how to
calculate Bernoulli numbers as an example of one
such sequence to be the first computer program.

CODERS SPOTLIGHT

Interview with Nouf Alshebli

Nouf Alshebli, a passionate business owner,
photographer and horseback riding enthusiast, started
her ice cream business back in 2020 while also learning
how to code and working towards obtaining a Pilot
License. Talk about multitasking!
When we asked Nouf about her experience with learning
how to code as a beginner at 42 Abu Dhabi, she said:
Coding helped me develop a strong mindset especially
that I had to take the hard path of learning a new skill
from zero. I am so grateful for choosing to embark on this
journey, and I cannot wait to start sharing my coding
knowledge with others and set an example for other
women who were also #borntocode.
We also asked Nouf to share some tips for 42 Abu
Dhabi’s future coders and female entrepreneurs in the
coding field. Here’s some of the most valuable advice
that she shared:
My biggest advice is for people to never compare
themselves with others because every person will have a
different learning curve, and it’s important for each one of
us to focus on building our coding skills no matter the
challenges that we face. Another important advice is
especially relevant for future coders, and that is to keep in
mind that coding skills can be learnt by everyone from all
