I have decided to put my own spin on what mechanical engineering will be for me. In my
product, I aspire to create an engineering blueprint for a car engine I am currently working on. Its
purpose is to allow me, and others, to replicate my exact combination of parts on their own
application. In short, it will make it so others can create a replica of my engine, just like when
manufacturing engineers create blueprints of components they design so it can be mass produced
by workers worldwide. My blueprint will be drawn out and will be considered a draft, but I will
take it as seriously as if I were getting it patented. My plan is to draw up an extensive parts list,
the real world. I am doing this because it pertains to my lifestyle and goals in life, and gives me a
glimpse into what a real engineer does when creating a product. I also am creating this blueprint
because the engine I will be modeling it after has been the focus of my labor for the past few
weeks. It will be interesting to combine my real world hobbies with my engineering studies.
related subjects and create a parts materials list with order numbers and sources. I do not have
the resources to use real engineering design softwares like Studio Works so I plan to use grid
paper and create neat and proper sketches to express my ideas. I will have to accumulate an
extensive amount of knowledge on the 6.0 liter Chevrolet engine I plan on creating and
marketing. I will also need to find the most efficient technique to put it together because that is

what the main goal of manufacturing engineers is. I will make an extensive instructions list and
will be able to offer enough insight in my prints that an uneducated individual could put together
my creation based on my instructions. I plan to complete my materials list first, and have that
done by February 19th of 2024. This is because once I have the materials, the installation process
will become much easier and I will not have to work backwards. I will then move into the bulk
of my project, which is creating the instructions for a beginner to assemble my engineer. I will
complete these instructions and installation methods by March 13th of 2024. These installation
methods will include every detail needed, including torque specifications, part numbers,
assembly order, and pictures. Lastly I will create my final product sketch to show it will all work
The best part about this project is that I get to combine my hobby with my future degree.
I have been told that you do not have to work if you love what you do and projects like this allow
me to do that. On the other hand, I will be challenged with aspects of engineering I do not know
yet. I will have to literally test my procedures to make sure I am not messing up and will spend
many hours doing research on how prints are made. This will be difficult, but not impossible,
because when I am challenged I enjoy putting my head down and finding a way to work harder
and rise to the occasion. This is where my love for motorsports and inspiration for this project
comes from. I will be using some trained mechanics as resources for the assembly of an engine,
and the public knowledge of existing prints unrelated to this motor to have a general idea of what
I am trying to create. If I become stuck on something with the print, I will refer back to my
shadowing partners at terex for some insight on how to create a print that is acceptable.
I am excited to move forward with this project, and my next steps involve learning
everything I can about this engine, and making a rough draft of the parts list. Luckily for me, I

have been working on this engine for some time now in hopes of putting it in a car I own. I will
work hands on with the motor to find out what I need and parts numbers. I am ecstatic to start
this project because I have finally found a career I may be passionate about. I am prepared and
capable of a great product, and hope to show my capabilities with this blueprint.
