saved 206 MW of electric-
ity on Saturday night by
switching off non-essential
lights and other applianc-
es during the ‘Earth Hour’,
discom officials said. The
consumers of BSES dis-
coms saved 130 MW while
observing the Earth Hour
from between 8.30 pm to
9.30 pm, a BSES spokes-
person said. “Delhi as a
whole saved 206 MW. Last
year, Delhi had saved 279
MW,” discom officials said.
The Tata Power-DDL dis-

ly saved 71 MW during the

minister Amit Shah on Tues-
day reiterated that Pakistan
Occupied Kashmir (POK) is
an integral part of India, and
both the Muslims and Hin-
dus living there are Indians.
“The BJP and the entire
Parliament believe that POK
believes the POK is an inte-
gral part of India. The Mus-
lims and the Hindus living
in POK are also Indians and
the land also belongs to In-
dia which has been illegally
occupied by Pakistan. It is
the goal of every Indian, ev-
ery Kashmiri to get it back,”

of Kashmir Valley were given
a wrong interpretation of Ar-
ticle 370 which now stands
nullified after its abrogation.
“It was always said that
once Article 370 is abrogat-
ed, the culture, language
and existence of Kashmiri-
yat will be threatened. It is
now five years after the ab-
rogation but nothing such

Mukhtar Ansari has alleged
being poisoned by a sub-
stance mixed in food given to
him in Banda jail, his brother
Afzal Ansari said on Tuesday.
“Mukhtar said that he was
given poisonous a substance
in food in jail. This happened
for the second time. Around
40 days ago also he was
given poison. And recently
on March 19 of March 22,
he was again given this (poi-
son) due to which his con-
dition is bad,” Afzal, an MP
from Ghazipur, was quoted
by PTI as saying. He added

minister Amit Shah on Tues-
day said that the Centre will
consider revoking Armed
Forces (Special Powers) Act
in Jammu and Kashmir.
In an interview to JK Me-
dia Group, the minister add-
ed that the government is
planning to pull back troops
from the Union territory and
leave law and order to the
Jammu and Kashmir Police
alone.
“We have plans to pull

police were not trusted but
today they are leading op-
erations. We will also think
of revoking AFSPA,” Shah

The AFSPA empowers
the armed forces personnel
who are operating in dis-

fire if they deem it neces-
sary for "the maintenance
of public order". An area
or district is notified as dis-
turbed under the AFSPA to
facilitate the operations of
the armed forces.

ary Bharti Hexacom’s initial
share sale will open for pub-
lic subscription on April 3.
The three-day initial public
offering (IPO) will conclude
on April 5, and the anchor
book of the offer will open for
a day on April 2, according to
the Red Herring Prospectus
(RHP) filed on Friday. This will
be the first IPO in the finan-
cial year 2024-25.
The maiden public issue is
purely an offer-for-sale (OFS)
of up to 7.5 crore shares
(representing a 15 per cent
stake) by existing sharehold-
er — Telecommunications
Consultants India Ltd. The
OFS size has been reduced
to 7.5 crore from 10 crore eq-
uity shares planned earlier.

an OFS, the entire proceeds
will go to the selling share-
holders, and the company
will not receive any funds
from the issue. Bharti Hex-
acom obtained its observa-
tion letter on March 11 from

health ministry estimate for
the number of people miss-
ing in Gaza is about 7,000.
But that figure has not been
updated since November,
according to a report in the
New York Times.

port Police team has arrest-
ed two agents from Punjab
in two separate incidents for
their involvement in arrang-
ing counterfeit VISAS for
travelers. The police received
information about these
agents from an anonymous

accused were identified as

by the Indian Council of
Medical Research (ICMR)
has revealed that the states
of Tamil Nadu, Telangana,
Karnataka, and Delhi bear a
higher burden of breast can-
cer compared to the eastern
and northeastern states.
The study also predicts a
significant increase in the
disease burden across India
by 2025. The research, pub-
lished earlier this month, an-
alysed the burden of breast
cancer in India from 2012 to
2016 at the state level.
It used metrics such as
years of life lost (YLLs), years
lived with disability (YLDs),
and disabilityadjusted life
years (DALYs) to estimate
the burden and projected
the same for 2025.
In 2016, the burden of
breast cancer among Indian
women was estimated at
515.4 DALYs per 100,000

22-YEAR-OLD MAN HELD
FOR STABBING WOMAN
NEW DELHI: A 22-year-old
man was arrested for al-
legedly stabbing a wom-
an in northwest Delhi’s
Mukherjee Nagar area, po-
lice said on Sunday. The al-
leged incident occurred late
on Friday and the accused
was arrested the following
day. CCTV camera footage
purporting to show the man
running behind the woman
and stabbing her multiple
times became widely circu-
lated on social media. The
footage also showed some
people trying to help the
woman and overpower the
man. However, he escaped
from the spot. “The woman
did not suffer any grievous
