formula student racing teams worldwide under
our corporate social responsibility (CSR)

1.Testing Report
Gradual research improvement has made Melasta one of the leading manufacturers of lithium batteries. Melasta
offers educational research sponsorship to the formula student teams to support the electrical mobility sector.
These projects have helped it improve the cell's performance by offering testing reports since 2010. Teams get an
additional discount by offering the testing reports in excel format.

2.BMS Additional Functionalities

A majority of Student teams develop their own BMS to boost the efficiency and efficiency of their battery packs.
The team must explain why and how their battery management system differs from the standard BMS on the
market? Because Melasta is interested in R&D Collaboration, that could help to improve the cell technology.
Melasta offers an additional discount on sharing the BMS structure, design, and additional/custom functionalities
available in the BMS.

3.Assembling Techniques
The team will receive an additional discount by providing information about the assembly methods and how the
battery pack is being constructed, and the type of welding technique they used to construct it. The most common
welding techniques include laser, spot, and ultrasonic welding.

4.Thermal Runaway Mechanism and Techniques

When Lithium polymer batteries get discharged at a very fast rate, there is always a chance of a thermal runaway.
Every team has its method and technique to deal with this problem. Melasta is extremely interested in knowing

Air cooling is a very popular method employed by formula student teams; however, it's not necessarily the most
efficient. The battery cooling system is important and has a huge impact on the efficiency that the batteries pack.

7. Measuring Cell Uniformity While Discharging

The uniformity of lithium batteries has a significant impact on the safety and durability of the pack of batteries. It
is therefore important to assemble batteries with good consistency in a pack. Melasta provides cell matching
services at the static state in the laboratory under a controlled environment. We suggest teams do uniformity
tests while discharging the battery at various discharge rates and under different environmental conditions to
obtain the cell matching data in a dynamic state. Melasta provides complete guidance and an additional discount
