Two killed in road accident

Sonepat April 9 -Two persons were killed and
three injured when aspeeding truck hit a car
on the main road.
Awareness regardingthe hazards of
Subject-
using headphones on the roads.
Respected Sir,

Through the column of your newspaper, I want

to share my point about the risks of the use of
headphones on highways/roads/streets. I also
found that when our focus is divided, the
dangers of an injury increases. This is an
ignored, but very popular issue.
Many people wear headphones while driving or
walking. They feel that it looks cool or natural
but they don't see the detrimental effects of it.
When listening to music, you can avoid noise
outside, but you can also avoid the sound
{vehicle horns, stray dogs etc). Some vehicles
may come from the other side, but they are so
embraced inmusic that they don't knowabout
it. Or, if an individual crosses the lane, they may
not know if they do not hear, which may be fatal
in turn. This may be a major problem when an
ambulance is behind us and wants apasSsage,
So you don't know about it. Music can influer
nood but it can influence your driving as dah
well.
Music is an entertainment medium, it is vital
and should have aplace in our lives, but at the
same time, we cannot really concentrate on
two separate activities. This truth is not known
to many people and it must be known to them.
Fullfocus on the road is a must for safety while
driving.
Ihope you will give space to my thoughts and
article in your newspaper and make people
aware of the effect of using headphones while
driving.

Thank you.
Yours faithfully,
Himani

Subject: Highlighting the problem of frequent traffic jams inour city.

Sir

Through the column of your esteemed newspaper I, Ajeet Sharma would like to
make everyone aware about the frequent traffic jams in our city. Due to this h
2
population and the increased number of public and private cars, the city often
the problem of traffic jams.

The number of people living in the city and the number of vehicles they are using is
higher than the number of roads. As a result, the traffic jam often occurs and people
have to suffer. Another reason is the unauthorized parking of vehicles on the streets.

There are many steps which should be taken to reduce the jam in the street. Firstly
the traffic rules should be followed properly. Secondly people should use public
transport and should lessen the number of private vehicles on roads. Hence, Iwould
be grateful if you publish my letter in the form of an article in your newspaper and
make the public aware about the concerned problem.

Thanking you
Yours truly

Dear Sir
Through your newspaper, Iwish to raise my voice
against the misuse of public property. There is
large scale encroachment on the pavements and
public parks. The roads have shrunk be
shopkeepershave occupied the pavements.
Some daring shopkeepers have occupied the
public parks also.
l appeal to the authorities to use force against
such people. If the roads become free from
encroachment, there will be no traffic-jam.
Yours faithfully

Dear Sir
Sub: Reckless driving
The accident reported in your newspaper dated
April 9 is not an isolated incident. It is a reqular
feature of life in this town. On an average, two
accidents happen in this city every month. The
main reason is that the drivers ignore the
prescribed speed-limit and drive vehicles at
very high speed even through the main streets.

These accidents cause panic among the people.

Human life is precious. Irequest the local police
to rise to the occasion and penalise the careless
drivers who exceed the prescribed speed-limit.
Law-breakers do not deserve any sympathy.
I would suggest that the drivers whoare caught
twice within ayear's time should lose their driving
licence.
Yours faithfully
Shankar
