CASE STUDY 1:

• Google Reverse Image: It can be considered as the most powerful feature of Google
Images. It uses an image as the search term. A reverse image search can give two set of
results. First, it can return source websites where the image can be found. Secondly, find
any names or descriptions associated with the image. This is useful if we have an image
but want to know where it came from. Second image is the original image found through
google reverse image.

• TinEye: It is a reverse image search engine. It uses image identification technology instead
of keywords, watermarks, or metadata. It constantly crawls the web and adds images to its
index. Today, the TinEye index is over 44.9 billion images. TinEye was also used to find
the original image. Second images shows the original image and where it was uploaded.

• Twitter Advanced Search:
It is available when we are logged in to twitter.com. It allows us to tailor search results to
specific date ranges, people and more. This makes it easier to find specific Tweets.
It was used to find the fake image and also check how many times the fake image was
shared on social media. Attached below are only few of the many tweets.

• Foto Forensics: It is an image analysis tool. It is a web-based verification tool that provides
information about the source, timestamp, creation, and modification information of images.
Foto Forensics was used to obtain metadata of the original image.

• Snopes: It was formerly known as the Urban Legends Reference Pages, is a fact-checking
website. It has been described as a "well-regarded reference for sorting out myths and
rumors" on the Internet. According to the article, the image with Mr.Trump is a fake image
and is digitally altered. The original image can be found on the CNN’s website. Also, the
original image is from flooding in Central Texas in 2015, as opposed to claims that it was
from Hurricane Harvey in 2017. The original image was from 2015, when Mr. Trump
wasn’t even elected as the president.

• Google Search: It is a web-based tool enabling users to locate information on the World
Wide Web. It was used to find the source of fake and original image. As we can see from
the images below various news sharing websites reported about the fake image being
circulated and also shared the original image. It was a NY Times reporter who pointed out
that the image with Mr.Trump is fake. The original image was posted on the CNN’s
website.

CASE STUDY 2:

• Blacklist Check of 1xBet


Site24X7 was used to check if 1xBet website is blacklisted. Domain name system blacklist
or a DNS blacklist is a software mechanism that helps or facilitates mail server providers
to block IP address that send spam content. From the images we can gather tha the website
is not blacklisted.

• Company or Website registration information of 1xBet
Opencorporates and similarweb were used to find the place of registration of 1xBet. We
can see from the images that 1xbet was registered in Romania and has headquarters in
Cyprus. 1xBet was also started in the UK, but it is inactive since 2020. From the second
image we can gather that 1xBet sports betting website.

• Yuvraj Singh’s association with 1xBet
Twitter Advanced Search was used to find tweets about Yuvraj Singh and 1xBet. From the
images below we can gather that 1xBet was promoted as a sports blog and also that Yuvraj
Singh promoting 1xBet.

• Pornhub Casino case of 2019 related to 1xBet
Bing News was used to find information regarding aforementioned case. The website was
taken down in the UK

Facebook search and Google was used to find posts with respect to Ranbir Kapoor and
Mary Kom’s association with FairPlay.
