Without thinking too hard, it can be pretty simple to come up with things that represent you as a

person. A way to put these all together visually can be a Mandala. From a dove to a heart you can
really put anything you want on it as long as it has a specific meaning to you. When making my
Mandala I was able to come down to 5 symbols that I can strongly say represent me. On my
Mandala I used a heart, peace sign, paw print, infinity sign, and music notes since they all have a
specific meaning to me.

To start off, the heart represents my family including my parents and siblings. They technically were
the first people I grew to care for and love so the heart seemed fitting. My family has always been
supportive and non-judgemental towards me and I appreciate that a lot. They have provided me
with everything necessary for me to live comfortably both physically and just with their presence.
Family overall means a lot to me because without them my life would be completely different.

The next symbol is a peace sign that as its name says, means peace. With everything happening in
my personal life as I get older, peace is something I value a lot. Just finding the time to take my
mind off of things like reading a book has helped me in being able to keep moving. Even without
doing a specific thing I try to not think too hard about situations in general as to not cause
overthinking and just live in the present.

Similarly to the heart representing family, the paw print represents my dog which can also be
considered family. My dog is one of the main things that make me happy and that hasn’t waned
since the day he came into my life. I can hug or talk to him knowing that he won’t judge me and will
just love me the same way that I do. Getting to see him everyday after a long day of school always
manages to bring a smile to my face and I think that’s something essential to have in your life, a
source of happiness.

I chose the infinity sign to represent friendship because although it may not be infinite I would like to
think that it is. I have few friendships with people but that's because I value quality over quantity. I
rather have a small group of friends I can fully rely and enjoy myself with than a larger group that
could seem distant. It’s always good to have a friend around that you can talk to about anything.

Lastly, the music notes are quite self explanatory over what they mean, music. Whenever I get the
chance to, I always listen to music while doing daily activities like doing chores to upbeat music or
piano music when writing essays like this one. I think music has its own language in a way since it
can convey messages that can’t just be said out loud. Sometimes you can relate to the messages
the song is trying to portray and that makes music even more special to me. Music has helped me
out in tough situations and served as an escape from reality which is necessary at times.

To conclude, all of these 5 symbols have a similar importance in my life. Ranging from people to
emotions something can represent, I think they are all necessary in being able to show who I am
and what I value. Moving forward, I think they will all continue to grow in significance either with
finding new people to trust in or the growth in what emotions are provoked. In making my Mandala I
was able to reflect on what really matters to me in life.
