The Covid-19 Pandemic

The covid-19 pandemic is a global outbreak of an infectious disease known as coronavirus that
has affected the whole world and has led to a worldwide crisis that changed our way of living.

COVID-19, also known as the coronavirus pandemic, is an ongoing global pandemic of

coronavirus disease caused by a virus named SARS-CoV-2 and was discovered in December 2019 in
Wuhan, China. SARS-CoV-2, or severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2, is a part of the
coronavirus family, which includes common viruses that cause various diseases from head or chest colds
to more severe conditions like severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) and Middle East respiratory
syndrome (MERS). Like many other respiratory viruses, coronaviruses spread quickly through droplets
you project out of your mouth or nose when you breathe, cough, sneeze, or speak. It is very contagious,
so it has quickly spread worldwide, resulting in a global coronavirus outbreak.

The pandemic has resulted in a dramatic loss of human life and a great loss in the worldwide
economy. Due to the underlying threat of covid-19, lockdowns were implemented in countries, and
economic activities were put to a halt. People were told to stay at home, schools temporarily closed, and
many businesses closed, resulting in decimated jobs and placing millions of livelihoods at risk.

The covid-19 pandemic changed how we communicate, educate, study, work, shop, and more.
Online communication through social media has become a way of communicating and interacting with
other people, and online shopping has become a lot more convenient for people. Several modes of
learning have been implemented in education, such as online learning using online classrooms, modular
learning, and blended learning.

The covid 19 pandemic has been tough. It has brought many changes in our life, such as in the
fields of education, the economy, public health, medicine, and communication. It changed how we live
but has made us more resilient, leading us to adapt to the new normal.
