FILIPINO CULTURE DESCRIPTION
FILIPINO TIME Well, it is the habit of
Filipinos means being
minutes to hours late
compared to the standard
time. Simply put, Filipino
time means being late and
disrespecting other people's
time. This mindset always
assumes that being late is
acceptable. Discipline and
consideration for others'
time will be critical in
eradicating this mentality.
BAYANIHAN It is natural for Filipinos to help
people in need. So Bayanihan
is refers to the unity and
cooperation of people in one
community. Bayanihan is one
of our tradition that neighbors
helping a relocating family by
getting enough volunteers to
carry the whole house, and
literally moving it to its new
location.
HOW ARE THESE PRACTICED
IN THE PHILIPPINES?
ELEMENTARY - at this stage,
students are they not
valuing their time because
they are to young to know
the real meaning on how to
prioritize their time.
HIGH SCHOOL- some of
students at this stage will
have someone who values
time and someone who
doesn't.
COLLEGE - they are being
responsible and most
valuing their time because
their attention is focuser
and they're not wasting
time on distraction.
ELEMENTARY- Elementary
students do not yet know what
bayanihan means, but they are
already able to do such things
as helping their teacher to
carry their belongings and
even to classmates inside the
school.
HIGH SCHOOL- At this stage
they can know the meaning
and the values of Bayanihan.
Sometimes they can
Voluntarily joining in the
school activities. And Project
proposal.

PAGMAMANO Mano or pagmamano is an
“honoring-gesture” used in
Filipino culture performed as a
sign of respect to elders and as
a way of requesting a blessing
from the elder. Similar to
hand-kissing, the person giving
the greeting bows towards the
hand of the elder and presses
his or her forehead on the
elder’s hand.
FESTIVAL There are a lot festival in the
Philippines Each place has it's
culture. A festival is an event
ordinarily celebrated by a
community and centering on
some characteristic aspect of
COLLEGE- At this stage in NSTP
they can conduct a school
Collaboration , helping one
community by Conducting a
Clean up Drive and Teaching
Activities.
ELEMENTARY- Since their
youth or elementary school
days, Filipino children are
trained to be respectful as
early as possible. Pagmamano
is one of the traits that has not
been neglected from
childhood, and it is one of the
methods to show respect to
your parents or anyone older
than you.
HIGH SCHOOL- People still use
pagmamano to express
respect to the elderly during
high school. However, it isn't
as frequent as it formerly was.
It all relies on how the children
are brought up. If parents
begin teaching their children
how to do the mano when
they are one year old, they will
retain this gesture of respect
as they grow older, believing in
it and putting it into practice
wherever they go.
COLLEGE- College is a time
when students have matured
in terms of their way of life,
but because pagmamano is
viewed as a sign of'respect,'
and although it is not always
practiced by some of the
youngsters, there are those
who understand the
importance of it and continue
to practice it till adulthood
ELEMENTARY- In a young
minds of the Elementary
students for them a Festival is
a colorful event that
celebrates here in the country.

religion or culture. they already know the
Festivals that are celebrated in
their province. They must
joined and part of it's occasion.

Festival they appreciate the
essence of the Festival
