ABSTRACT

This study purported to determine the Electrical Installation and Maintenance

skills and the Academic performance of Grade-12 Electrical Installation and

Maintenance students of Bulawan National High School that were officially enrolled

this school year 2022-2023.

These studies sought to answer the following questions:

1. How may the level of academic performance of students be described?

2. What is the Electrical Installation and Maintenance skills acquired by

students?

3. What factors are affecting the skill acquisition by students?

4. Is there a significant relationship between the academic performance and the

acquired skills by the students?

The Researchers used Quantitative research particularly correlational design

for thirty (30) Grade-12 Electrical Installation and Maintenance students section

orchid, selected and random were enrolled for the school year 2022-2023. And also,

the researcher uses survey questionnaire to establish its reliability of gathering the

data.

The researcher uses statistical tools such Perason’s correlation coefficient to

ensure the accuracy and reliability of data analysis.

Two (2) hypotheses were presented in this study


Null Hypothesis: There is no significant relationship between the academic

performance and the acquired skills of Grade 12 Electrical Installation and

Maintenance students in Bulawan National High School.

Alternative Hypothesis: There is a significant relationship between the

academic performance and the acquired skills of Grade 12 Electrical Installation and

Maintenance students in Bulawan National High school.

From the gathered data, the researcher utilized one statistical tool to identify

the significant relationship between the variables. Pearson’s correlation coefficient

was used to identify the significant relationship between the Electrical Installation and

Maintenance acquired skills and the Academic Performance of students.

From the results and findings of the study, it is safe to conclude that there is a

moderately relationship between the Electrical Installation acquired skills and the

Academic Performance of the students.

There could be several possible reasons for a moderate correlation between the

academic performance and acquired skills by the students such as each student has

unique abilities interests, and learning styles. While some students may excel

academically, others may possess better practical skills. This different in interest can

result in a moderate correlation between academic performance and acquired skills.
