CHAPTER 1
THE PROBLEM
Introduction
Garcia, Maria S.; Santos, et.al (2020). This study aims to assess
the effectiveness of the Technical Vocational Livelihood (TVL) -
Electrical Installation and Maintenance curriculum in preparing
Senior High School Students for real- world electrical work

Installation and Maintenance programs are designed to provide with

hands on practices and technical skills that are directly applicable in
the EIM industry.
Statement of the Problem
It seeks answers to the following:

1. What are the knowledge and skills that students need to be

successful in real-world electrical work?

2. How well does the TVL-EIM curriculum prepare students for

these knowledge and skills?
Statement of the Problem
3. What are the strengths and weaknesses of the TVL-EIM
curriculum?

4. How can the TVL-EIM curriculum be improved to better prepare

students for real-world work?
Assumptions
1. The TVL-EIM curriculum is designed to prepare students for
careers in the electrical field.

2. The TVL-EIM curriculum can be assessed by examining its

content, structure, and delivery.
Assumptions
3. The strengths and weaknesses of the TVL-EIM curriculum can be
identified by comparing it to the needs of the electrical field.

4. The TVL-EIM curriculum can be improved by incorporating the

results of the assessment
Scope and Delimitation
The scope of the research is limited to 30 of Senior High School
Student in Lupi-Iligan National High School during the school year
2023.

Rosales (2022), Figueroa (2022)
tested the Effectiveness of TVL-
Electrical Installation and
Maintenance curriculum to prepare
students with skills and abilities.
While Myrniel (2018), Mercado
(2023), and Bacaling (2018), the
study implied the current situation on
the newly implemented curriculum.
Synthesis of the Arts
Schwartz (2016), the importance of
senior high school education in
preparing students for careers in
electrical installation and
maintenance. At the same time,
Daunda Moses, Daniel Kaleb Diraso
et Al. (2017), determine the level of
skills acquired in old job
performance of Senior High School
Synthesis of the Arts
Noche (2019), increasing demand for
real-world electrical spans across
various academic degrees among
senior high school students. Moses,
Diraso et. Al (2017),assess the skill
levels and job performance of senior
high school students, Spencer (2015),

residential electricians by providing
Gap Bridged by the Study
Focused in the effectiveness of
having a TVL- EIM so that learners
have knowledge as they move out in
the real-world.
Theoretical Framework
To support this study, the following
theories will be presented;

Robert Katz skills theory

Addie model
John Dewey Learning by doing
theory.
Conceptual Framework
This is based on the theories
presented in the Theoretical
Framework that contains important
variables of the study reflected in the
input, process, and output.
