The seminar had good results. It can be seen from the survey results where five participants
strongly agreed and agreed that the objectives of the training were clearly defined. Secondly, the results
also showed that the participation and interaction were encouraged. Then, five participants agreed and
strongly agreed that the topics covered were relevant to them. Fourthly, there were four participants also
agreed and strongly agreed that the content was organised and easy to follow. But, there was only one
had the neutral opinion towards this. Fifthly, there was also one participant who had the neutral point of
view towards the materials distributed were helpful. Then, there were five participants also agreed that
the training experience will be useful for their job. Also, there was only one participants stated that the
trainer was knowledgeable about the training topics. As well as, for the trainer was well prepared. The
last but not least is about the time, the only problem that we had was there were three participants had
natural opinion which stated that the time allotted for the training was insufficient yet. It was because the
trainer couldn’t manage the time well and need a better improvement and preparation for the future
seminar.
Analysis of staff performance

Performance management appraisal B (after the training)

The following learning and development activities were conducted since Performance Management Appraisal
A:
1) E-learning new products: staff access Intranet each month to learn about new products. This platform was
in response to staff feedback that new product seminars once every 2 – 4 months were not enough to keep
up.
2) Team building activity: Cooking a meal from scratch with external provider
3) Handling difficult customers: Team leader guided session (1 session – 30 minutes).
4) Time management: watched a series of DVDs about time management over a couple of hours,
brainstormed techniques and discussed every week at staff meetings for a month.
5) Traffic engagement analysis: Watched video of subject matter expert and discussed.

1. The training provided for handling difficult customers appears not to be sufficient as this is still an
issue. A suggestion would be to use external trainers to develop a short course to be delivered in-
house, or ongoing professional training workshops conducted by HR.
2. Successful adaptability to change learning and development as evidenced by all staff improving
performance rating.
3. Staff performance for time management has improved.
4. Team work and team collaboration has also improved.
5. Arrange further training for the following areas i.e. communication and adaptability to change
6. (Traffic engagement analysis)
7. Handling customer complaints required further development.

Recomendations

1. Continued product knowledge training to keep team members up-to-date.

2. Mentoring sections to learn minimise/eliminate stressful days/enquiries.
3. Mentoring sections to learn how to deal with pressure at work
4. Further training on new products and features
