Die preparation

First, block out any undercuts on the die using Type IV&V stone.

1st step: Die trimming should be done below the margin to minimize
damage to finish line if possible.

2nd step: Ditching Die


A circumferential groove that is 0.3 mm deep is carved below the
preparation border. For further clarification to the finish line

3rd step: Marking the margins with red pencil for quick identification
and contrast.
4th step: Die Hardener Applied to strengthen the die.

5th step: Die spacer


- Apply a 20–40 m spacer over the die that is 1 mm short of the
margin.
- It provide for full seating of the restoration and an even thickness of
cement space.

6th step: Die Lubricant


7th step: CopingLayer
Using a heated no. 7 wax spatula or by dipping in molten wax, a thin
uniform coating of 0.5mm wax is applied to achieve a thin uniform film
covering all surfaces.

Finally, using a blunt instrument and a PKT instrument, remove any wax
that has adhered to the die. (DPT no. 6)
