11. Scope / Objectives of the project:

The main objective of designing and fabrication of multi utility motorcycle is
to provide farmers an ease of doing various operations in any place at any
time. The few commonly performed operations by farmers are ploughing,
|cutting grass manually and spreading fertilizers by hand or by tractor.
Farmers find it difficult to use different machines for these operations. It also
increases the cost for performing the operations individually. The multi utility
motorbike will aid farmers perform the mentioned operation at ease and

economically.
This might help us reaching our goal by reducing the man power as wellas
cost. In this work we are planning to design & fabrication of two wheeler to
use for agricultural operations.
The "cultivator tool" and "ploughing tool" will be attached to the "Pulsar
180cc® motor cycle by using frames at the support by altering the rare wheel.
The power to run these components will be derived from the IC engine of the
motorcycle. The ignition and combustion of the petrol occurs within the
engine. The expanding combustion gases push the piston which in turn
rotates the crankshaft. Ultimately, through the system of gears in the
powertrain, this motion drives the motorcycle wheels. The power is
transferred from motorcycle to these components through chain drives and
bevelgears. Thus using multi utility motorcycle, farmers can do ploughing,
cut grass and spread fertilizers, one at a time using a single source which
|saves both money and time.

12. Methodology:
Cultivator is a perfect solution for stubble cultivation with an objective to
provide a thorough and complete mix of soil and straw to the required
working depth, incorporation of crop residues and organic fertilizer into the
soil. Perfect machine for the stubble cultivation Tine Cultivator - perfect
stubble cultivation implement suitable for light and medium soil conditions.
The cultivator attaching the teeth to the front ends or sides of the beams, or
lother parts of the cultivator or harrow (to which they are secured) that any
straw, stones, or other substance which would otherwise choke, or clog up in
front of the hoes or teeth will pass up over the upper ends thereof, and fall off
firom the cultivator or harrow. To effect this object the shanks or teeth are
made so as to extend up across the front part of the frame to which they are

KSCST: Student Project Programme:47series: 2023-2024 3

attached, and the upper ends of said shanks are bent back over on to the top
|of the frame, to which they are secured by small bolts passed through the
ends of the shanks of the hoes or teeth, and through the frame of the
cultivator or harrOW.

The designing process of a rotavator is done in one of the CAD Software that
is Solidworks. The design of the rotavator is considered safe only when the
maximum stresses induced in the blade material should not exceed the
yield strength of the actual material. In order to get accurate results, the
lassembly design of the rotavator blade and rotavator shaft is been done.
Rotavator is obtainable different sizes. Different types of blade are used on
the Rotavator tractor. One right and one left-hand blade are fixed so that the
total width of soil is cut. The hub Larrying blades are thus arranged to give a
spiral effect or uniform cutting load on the shaft. The gap between
rotating blades and trailing board is adaptable, which controls the degree of
|pulverization. Lowering this gap increases pulverization and the trailing
board also helps to level the land equally.

13. Expected Outcome of the project:

1.Works at speed of 10-20 kmph.
2.Millage 25kms per 1 ltr.
3.Turning radius -5 meters.
4.Can pull load up to 260kg.
5.Rotavtor can only perform at soft and wet soil
6.Cultivator can plough up to the depth of 34mm.
14. Is the project proposed relevant to the Industry / Society or
Institution?
"No

16. Budget details (break-up details should be given):
Note:KSCST will provide nominal grant support for carrying out the project by students if
selected by the project selection committee.

Budget Amount

a) Materials / Consumables (Please specify) 20000.00

b) Labor (Describe) 5000.00

c) Travel (Describe) 2500.00

e) Miscellaneous (Please specify) 3000.00

Total 30500.00
17. Any other technical details (Please specify):
In the above project for a 18Occ bike we are going to insert cultivator and
rotavator.
Rotavator helps in breaking down soil and leveling of land. The rotating
blades of rotavator give impact on soil surface and throw soil upward
because of its rotational speed and pulverizes soil by breaking clods.
Cultivators stir and pulverize the soil, either before planting or after the
crop begun growing.it disturbs the top layer of soil to prepare the soil
into a smooth, loose, aerated seedbed and to kill weeds.
The main objective is to provide farmers an ease of doing various
operations in any place at any time. The few commonly performed
operations by farmers are ploughing, cutting grass manually and
spreading fertilizers by hand or by tractor. Farmers find it difficult to use
different machines for these operations. It also increases the cost for
performing the operations individually. The multi utility motorbike will
aid farmers perform the mentioned operation at ease and economically
