VI. Course Description:


The course Intermediate Accounting 3 covers the non-financial and financial liabilities, income
tax, employee benefits, leases, provisions and contingencies. It covers understanding and
application of accounting standards relating to nature and composition of accounts, initial
recognition, measurement, and presentation in the financial statements.
This course equips the learners with a thorough understanding of the conceptual
framework and the recognition, measurement, and financial statement presentation of non-
financial and financial liabilities, income tax, employee benefits, leases, provisions and
contingencies. Learners are expected to analyze accounting transactions, prepare accounting
entries, summarize the effects of the transactions, and prepare and present the accounts in the
financial statements in conformity with the financial reporting framework, using mini-case studies.

VII. Course outcomes:


At the end of the course, the student will be able to:
1. Identify issues related to the conceptual framework for financial reporting and enumerate the
accounting standards related to liabilities.
2. Evaluate related financial and non-financial liabilities accounts as to measurement, valuation
and presentation in the financial statements and its related notes.
3. Appreciate the value of perseverance and honesty

Course 1. Students are required to attend all class sessions as listed on the school calendar.
Policy and Students will be dropped if he/she exceeds allowable number of absences. Allowable
Standards absences 20% of IN sessions.
2. Students are expected to attend class sessions on time.
3. Students must take all schedule and unscheduled examinations. No special
examinations will be given except for Periodical Examinations.
4. Assignments, plates, and project designs must be submitted on or before the
deadline/due date
5. Cheating will not be tolerated and will result to Failure grade.
6. Students are expected to consistently demonstrate professional behavior.
7. Students are required to follow the proper grooming standard and will be marked
absent for non-compliance.
