Answer: Virtual water trade refers to the concept of hidden water in the production and
exchange of products and services. It calculates the amount of water used in the whole
manufacturing process of a specific product, including water used in raw material production,
processing, packing, and transportation.
Countries can account for their water consumption beyond their own boundaries through virtual
water trade. It aids in identifying areas where water is limited and where water-intensive
products are imported. The virtual water trade highlights a country's comparative advantage in
terms of water availability and productivity. Countries with limited water resources may prefer to
import water-intensive products rather than produce them domestically, thereby conserving
water. Understanding a product's virtual water content might help you identify market potential
and sustainable consumption habits. It allows organizations to think about the environmental
impact of their supply chains and make informed decisions about resource allocation,
purchasing of goods, and marketing strategies.

2.Answer: One of my often used imported products is an electronic device called a smartphone.
According to one study, a single smartphone takes over 3,190 gallons (12,760 liters) of water.
Furthermore, A4 paper is an imported commodity that I use on a regular basis. A4 paper is
imported by 94 Bangladesh Importers from 91 Suppliers, according to Volza's Bangladesh
Import data. The majority of Bangladesh's A4 paper is imported from India, China, and Thailand.
It has been determined that one piece of A4 paper requires 1.3 gallons (5.1 liters) of water over
the whole manufacturing process.
So, In today’s time I am using a smartphone and holding on to a ream of A4 papers is,
Smartphone + Ream of A4 papers(500 pcs)
= 12,760+(5.1*500) liter
=15310 liters
I have imported 15310 liters of virtual water.
