How does this article make you feel? Why?

This article evokes a feeling of annoyance. This is simply because people are still choosing to
involve race in matters where there is no place for it. In this instance, the strain of the virus
could have been reported from anywhere in the world and there were reports of it allegedly
being discovered in Europe before South Africa reported its first case to WHO.

Do you think the way the author presents the facts has something to do
with how you feel? Explain.

To my understanding, the author is fairly presenting the facts and not necessarily doing it in a
way to get a reaction out of a person. So, no I do not think the way the author presents the
facts has something to do with how I feel.

When we study and write about on issue as political studies scholars,

should we become emotional? Why or why not?

No, we should not become emotional when studying or writing on an issue because if we are
writing on an issue there will be the use of information and one’s main aim is to inform
others on the said issue. So, when writing the most effective way to inform others is to make
sure you are objective when doing so and try to irradicate as much bias as one can that way
the reader can get a neutral perspective on whatever subject and in turn come and form their
conclusions without any other influences.
