By answering the following questions, write a reflection paper on the significant
contributions of Rizal to the cause of human rights in his defence to the rights of the Filipinos to
quality education.
2. Education was the primordial concern of Jose Rizal. It had been his lifelong concern in
the preparation for the attainment of independence. John Schumacher aptly puts it:
“Education is the key to understanding much of Rizal’s career, for his whole career was bound up
with education – his own education and the education of his people.”
How do you think is history shaping Philippines education today?
I believe that in the present, multiple people still strive for the
development of quality education. Rizal is an example of how one’s
education could enlighten one’s mind and eventually, with great courage,
lead to massive changes in the community. Multiple people, with enough
dedication are able to achieve their lifelong goals, and education may be an
aspect that greatly aided them in their endeavors.
